AMERICAN 'POP ARTIST' JIM DINE'S HEARTS
Jim Dine is famous American artist.
He was born in Cincinnatti Ohio in 1935. He created pieces that artists can look at and be inspired by. Jim Dine created numerous paintings and sculptures all using HEARTS as his subject. He is one of the artists that started the “Pop Art” movement in the 1950’s.
“Pop Art” is art work that include subjects and images from popular culture. He worked with other famous artists like Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg and
Wayne Thiebaud.
For our hearts, I impressed on the children that Dine painted in a kind of 'choppy' style. After some cajoling, they acheived the 'Dine' style that with great emotion and energy.
