MONOPRINTS

This week we became 'printers.' Working with foam core boards, carving tools, rollers and washable paint, we first drew, then carved a simple sun. Painting the circle orange , we flipped our printing 'plates' tracing the outline of the plates to make sure we printed in the same spot each time. Then we rolled the back of the plates to print the orange circle. Next. we painted the sun rays yellow...flipped and pressed down with the roller again to print the rays. Lastly, we painted the rest of the plate blue, flipped, pressed and 'voila!...we had a printed illustration!
